Our focus on the book of Acts continues -- this week with the story of Peter's nightmarish dream and his subsequent interaction with Cornelius and his Gentile household.  Peter, the church leaders in Jerusalem -- and we -- are reminded of the wideness of God's mercy.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Cornelius and his people are baptized and welcomed into the community of faith. Facing arguments from religious leaders who questioned Peter's actions, he asks a question of his own: "And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift God gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God's way?" Who, indeed?  I look forward to exploring Acts with you this Sunday, in person or online.
