The Good Shepherd

John 10:17-18 (NLT)
“The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”

This week in worship we will talk about sheep and shepherds -- especially Jesus as the Good Shepherd (John 10:11-18). If Jesus is our shepherd, then that means we are the sheep.  How do you feel about being a sheep?  Accepting that we are like sheep is the hardest part for many people. It is our human nature to want to be in control of our lives. Yet, to be a follower of Christ, we must accept our spiritual likeness to sheep and our need for a good shepherd.  See you this Sunday as we talk about sheep, shepherds, and why they matter to us today.
